Ashley Brown, at 37 years old, became Indianapolis’ first African-American female chief meteorologist when she began working for WISH-TV in 2018. She is a passionate advocate for her community and in an interview with the Indianapolis Recorder states that she is proud “… that there’s some little girls out there watching TV and sees someone who looks like them.” She is an Indianapolis native and graduated from North Central High School in 2000. She then went on to study meteorology at Ball State University. Ashley fell in love with meteorology as a child, and professionally it has taken her to Palm Springs, California, Cincinnati, and now back home to Indianapolis. We are both thrilled and honored that Ashley has taken time out of her busy schedule to join us as a Race Starter this Saturday at the Great North Run.
