Charlie BrownAs successful as Mr. Brown has been professionally since graduating from North Central in 1967, it is his dedication to improve his community that has provided his legacy. After spending 30 years as co-owner of Southern Bells Inc., which maintained 76 restaurant franchises, he was named President of Bell American Group in 2012, after SBI’s acquisition by Flynn Restaurant Group. Throughout his career in the restaurant business, Brown has been steadfastly committed to central Indiana.

He is very involved in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana, receiving the Living Legacy Award, as well as Boys and Girls Clubs in Indianapolis. A champion for at-risk youth, Brown has also been recognized with the National “Champion for Teens” Award, in addition to the A.F.P. “Outstanding Philanthropist Award.” Brown’s character as a leader and public servant provide the ultimate example for North Central students and alumni, alike, when it comes to defining success.
